While to be able to see the deeper effects of alcohol such as tired skin, premature ageing signs (lines and wrinkles and enlarged pores) you really have to drink it daily, alcohol can also have some short term effects which we all have experienced it at one time in our life. We are obviously talking about that lifeless & tired skin (that cute hangover look that you get the next day). Let’s put it this way while alcohol is something that we all enjoy from time to time, it is also the worst toxin for your skin.
DEHYDRATION
Alcohol is a diuretic, meaning that you can lose plenty of skin cell-loving from the body rapidly which can cause dehydration and dullness of the skin.
WHAT TO DO
Boost your hydration levels internally but also externally! Switch that morning coffee for a herbal or green tea ( if possible, we won’t blame you) and try to drink at least 2L of water per day. Skin wise, hydration masks particularly night hydrating treatment can be a game-changer too.
