Curious what your Skin Craves Post-Workout?

FOAMING CLEANSER

The best cleanser for you to use post workout is a foaming cleanser. Foaming cleansers get a bad rep because they do have the potential to strip the skin and overtime cause the skin to become compromised. That said, for oily-combination skins, this type of cleanser can be beneficial and may be necessary to get rid of excess oil and grime! A foaming cleanser is also a great second cleanse option, if you prefer to remove your make-up with a micellar water or creamy cleanser first.

GEL CLEANSER

The best cleanser for you to use post workout is a gel cleanser. This is a great option as gel’s tend to be cooling (help with that post-workout redness) and also get rid of excess oil on the skin. Gel cleansers are a good option for those with oily-combination skin. After a workout, our skin needs to be cleansed properly to avoid irritation caused by sweat, as well as bacteria picked up at the gym. A gel cleanser will give the skin a pretty deep clean. If you have not removed make-up before your workout, you may want to do two cleanses with your gel cleanser.

MILKY/CREAMY CLEANSER

The best cleanser for you to use post workout is a milky or creamy cleanser. This type of cleanser is best for skin that is dry or sensitive, as it will not strip the skin and also will help to moisturise it. If you have make-up during your workout, it may be necessary to do this type of cleanse two times, in order to make sure the skin has been cleaned properly.

DOUBLE CLEANSING

So you workout with your make-up, it’s fine, we have done it too! That said, it is so important that you not only remove your make-up directly after working out but cleanse your skin properly as well. This means either removing make-up with a milk/creamy cleanser or micellar water first, and following with another cleanse to really remove the excess dirt/oil from your skin. Your skin type will determine the steps in this double cleanse:

GOLDEN RULES
  • Dry - 1st Micellar Water/Make-Up Remover 2nd Milk/Creamy
  • Oily - 1st Micellar Water/Make-Up Remover 2nd Foaming
  • Combo - 1st Micellar Water/Make-Up Remover 2nd Gel or Foaming
  • Sensitive - 1st Milk/Creamy 2nd Milk/Creamy (yep, just cleanse with the same gentle cleanse twice!)
