Type: Group of Ingredients

Definition: In the skin, ceramides are extremely important, as they form our skin lipids, which play a vital role in the skin’s physical barrier strength. In fact, they make sure that our skin remains ‘waterproof,’ ensuring it does not lose too much moisture or allow unwanted substances into our skin. Today, we can find synthesised molecules of similar structure, but they don’t contain the main component of the natural ceramides. Having said that, these ingredients, in certain product formulations, can be extremely beneficial for skin.
