When did your skin start being something that you wanted to focus on?
I saw a friend at a party who looked radiant-she told me she'd had a Lion/ne consultation and that it had worked wonders for her. I immediately booked mine as my skin had not been its best for a while. It was not a disaster zone but it didn't have its usual glow and bounciness. I've been very lucky in that I've never had a serious skin issue so I have left it somewhat neglected.

What was your biggest skin frustration?
Trying to work out how to get the glow into my skin. I wanted to feel comfortable make-up free.

Where did you go first to try to solve this problem?
I tried various consultations with larger beauty brands such as Dermalogica and Shiseido but I felt like their recommendations weren't personal to me so I gave up!

What was your biggest frustration or challenge with the current beauty market?
How difficult it is to find non-biased advice. At beauty counters, I was often recommended products that even I (a complete non-expert) knew were not right for my skin. I also don't like the tone of a lot of beauty/skincare branding-it usually seems to make women, in particular, feel bad about themselves so they feel forced into purchasing something.

How did you hear about Lion/ne?
Through two friends who tried the service and raved about it. Their skin looked amazing.

What made you want to book a consultation with them?
I wanted to know that I was doing the best for my skin and making the most of it.

How did you feel during your consultation?
Extremely relaxed, Ksenia was so friendly and immediately put me at ease. Her extensive product knowledge made me instantly trust her judgment and I was so excited to receive my product recommendations.

What did Lion/ne do differently?
They took a holistic approach and examined my entire lifestyle-what I ate, how I slept (poorly), stress levels (high!), my commute, my home environment-absolutely everything you could think of.

Skin Journey

Were your expectations met?
Absolutely, I left the consultation feeling calm and as though I was in 'safe hands'. The consultation was extremely thorough. When my product recommendations arrived I immediately ordered the whole lot and got started on my routine. Just reading about the products made me excited because they all sounded so brilliant and perfect for me.

How do you now feel about your skin and what has improved?
I feel so happy with my skin now, I hardly wear base make-up anymore as I have a natural glow. Even my boyfriend has noticed that I look "sheeny shiny" all the time! I was severely lacking in moisture so the addition of all these hydrating products made a dramatic difference. My skin feels supple and softened with all sensitivity vanquished. I have a lot of freckles and used to feel quite shy about them, now I feel confident and good in my own skin (pun intended!).

Has this changed the way you feel in your day to day life?
At first, I thought the only thing to change would be my skin but that is not the case. I love my double cleansing routine at night; it relaxes me and I like knowing that I am really nourishing my skin rather than attacking it with aggressive products. Often the beauty industry encourages people to see themselves as a group of different problems needing to be 'fixed', Lion/ne's approach has made me realise I need to nurture and protect my skin (as well as celebrate its natural and unique beauty!).

Did you feel that Lion/ne was present throughout your whole journey?
Yes, I sent several questions to Lion e's instagram page regarding eye cream and other things and they would reply very quickly with great advice and a host of recommendations. When I left my initial consultation Ksenia made sure I knew I could get in touch at any time with any questions. The way Lion e presents their information is completely non-intimidating so I always felt very happy approaching them for help.

Have you ever had a similar relationship with another skincare or beauty brand?
No. Not even close. I always got the impression at larger beauty brands that it was an 'every man for himself' approach. They just wanted to sell their products and then get rid of you!

Finally, would you recommend Lion/ne’s services to someone that has similar skin issues?
I would recommend Lion/ne to someone that has similar skin issues to me, to someone that has no skin issues and to someone who has completely different ones. I am in the process of persuading my boyfriend, mother and all of my friends to book a consultation. I rarely give recommendations for things but I would confidently recommend Lion/ne to anyone. I think it could be a particularly great gift for a teenager to help them avoid harsh products and make them feel comfortable.
